Goin to NY this week-can I buy a gun?
Visiting some relatives in NY, we will most liely go to some gun shops. As a non resident of NY, will I be able to purchase a firearm, either long gun or hand gun? I am pretty surethat in the past I remember being tod that I could purchase as a non resident, but I am not sure. thanks.

Under federal law, you can purchase a long gun from a dealer in another state, provided such purchase is permitted by the law in your state & the state where you want to make the purchase. We don't know your state of residence, so we can't tell you more.
But, even if it is legal, lots of luck finding a NYS dealer willing to sell to a resident of another state.

looks as if long guns are fine. Pistols are a no go.0
