Colt model 1903 .32cal Question
I inherited this pistol (first type) and it looks like the mag is about 1/4" from being fully inserted. I can't budge it and am embarrased to say that I can't find the mag release. Any help appreciated.

Mag release is at the heel of the magazine. Some models have a magazine safety that may be giving you trouble. And not to be snide- make sure the magazine is the right caliber.0 -
Thanks guys. I saw what is the release but couldn't move it w/ my finger. I finally got it to move and removed the mag. I had to grab and pull it out. I'm going to disassemble and clean the whole thing. It's not rusted but looks like whatever oil was used has turned to gum. Thanks again. 0 -

I would suggest not taking apart the frame parts, but cleaning with solvents keeping it assembled. It's a bit tricky to put the frame parts back together (particularly if you've had trouble with magazine removal [;)] ).
Edit: If you have the 1st Type, you'll have one with a barrel bushing separate from the barrel, but dis-assembly is still essentially the same as in that video. Don't be trying to push in the stop and rotate the barrel bushing until you've loosened/removed the barrel slide assembly.0 -
+1 on not disassembling the entire frame. I am reasonably competent but was embarrassed by the difficulty in putting mine back together. Would not do it again. 0
