proof marks on old Win. 22's

Did Winchester put proof markings on all the old 22 rifles? How about the sights?

No, and what exactly are you asking about in regards to the sights? Sights were not proof marked?

Thanks Bert. I had a potential bidder ask to see a close up pic of the proof marks on my Win. 68 early variety 22 rifle. Both the bolt and the sights. There was a faint "light strike" proof on the bolt. Nothing on the sight.

You would need to quantify old, and early. Before 1906, mostly, no proof marks.

All Model 68 rifles were proof marked. Winchester .22 caliber rifles made prior to 1908 were not proof marked. The bolt and the barrel were stamped with a proof mark.

The sights on the Model 68 were different than those on its more common sibling Model 67. The bidder wants to see & verify that it has the correct sights.
