Maremont Corp m60 ???
Whats the legality of a Maremont Corp Saco-Lowell semi automatic M60, is it considered a Class III or ????

It has to have been made specifically as a semi-auto. No garage job by bubba that converted a stock existing M 60, to semi-auto.
Depending on the State and municipality, if it meets the above criteria it's just another rifle. This doesn't take into account the commie states like callie and NY. For all I know, the way they are going apes

It has to be assembled on a purpose built semi auto receiver which cannot accept most of the standard M60 fire control component parts. There are a couple of guys here who own semi auto M60s so hopefully they can chime in with their expertise. 0 -

They probably limit the belts to seven rounds- which would require a drive-by shooter to have a A-gunner with a stack of seven round links, so the A-gunner could attach them as the gun is being fired. I'm sure that all gang members involved in drive-by shootings want to avoid breaking laws unnecessarily. And besides, M60 ammo weighs seven rounds to the pound, so they don't even have to count- for 350 rounds weigh out 50 pounds on your marijuana scale.0 -

It would have to be marked with the manufacturers name. The one guy I'm familiar with who make these semi-auto versions of selective fire machine guns is "Bob Landies of Ohio ordnance works". Mark might know of other FFL's, who are manufacturers who make them?
If the one your inquiring about is just marked Maremount and you can't trace it's history back to one of the FFL's who build semi-auto machine guns, I wouldn't have anything to do with it.0 -
If you can drop a USGI M60 bolt into the receiver then it is trouble as all semi's have internal modifications that prevent them from using a GI M60 bolt. The usual method to make a semi M60 bolt is to take a GI bolt and mill it to allow it's use inside the semi receiver.
What exactly do the markings on the receiver say?0
