Getting mag. out of High Std.?

    The magazine release on that gun is on the FRONT part of the base of the grip.

    You grab it and pull it forwards to release the magazine.

    The magazine may not fall all the way loose but whether it does or doesn't, you should be "catching" it then pulling it out with your non-shooting hand.

    (IE you dont want these mags falling to the ground where they can pick up dirt, or land on the feed lips and become damaged).

    You might have problems with aftermarket magazines, similar to this one.

    The forward magazine latch on the military model HS's, locks under the flat surface on the forward upper leg of the base. Some of the outfits, (Mitchel/Stoeger?) that made HS clones in the 90's may have got their dimensions out of spec?

    Remove the barrel and retract the slide. Pull the magazine latch as far forward as possible. with a flat piece of wood put pressure on the magazine follower to get the magazine past the latch. The front leg of the mag if it is to long by just .010 won't clear the magazine latch.
