S&W 686 consecutive pair

What would be the added value for a consecutive serial numbered pair of 686 no dash 6" bbl in excellent condition? A friend and I bought them new in the early 80's and I now have them both.

  I dont know if they were issued as a pair of if it was just the luck of the draw that the dealer received consecutive numbers in his order

  No additional value for consecutive SN on most modern firearms.

  Not much.
  
  If the guns were brand new in box with original papers, etc, having a pair with consecutive numbers might be a little extra, especially if they were otherwise rare or had some interesting provenance.
  
  But used. . .eh. . .they probably don't have much collector's value anyway. Consecutive serial numbers isn't going to add anything here.

  As others have said consecutive #'s don't add any value per se. However it could add some sentimental value to the right buyer if they were looking for a Father/Son combo. That though might take awhile to find.

  They would have to have been issued/sold to someone famous ( Jordan, Cooper, Skelton etc.)for the consecutive numbers to be much of a factor. I would enjoy them for the value of two friends who bought them and now one has them both.

  Very very little unless you happen to stumble onto a niche buyer(father son, gift to sons etc).
  
  Basically, they're not worth anything over normal.

  I have several sets of consecutively numbered guns in my collection and they are more of a conversation piece than anything else.
