Ohaus 304 Scale Value

I have an Ohaus Model 304 "Dial a Grain" reloading scale with the instructions. It does not have any check weights. There are no RCBS markings on the scale.

The scale works great. I have a cover but the cover is marked RCBS.

Can anyone give me an idea of the value?

  Grain scales unfortunately are old technology nowadays. Everything is digital. My top end RCBS scale has been siting in the closet unused for a year now.
  
  You might check out the auctions to see if I'm wrong, but I don't believe I am. Once the priced dropped on the digital scales below $30, that was all she wrote for the old manual grain scales.

  bought a NIB rcbs dial o grain for 45 bucks at a gunshow i like it just fine for my fumbly fingers[:D]

  I just ran a quick search for fun to see if there was a range of prices for scales being sold currently.
  
  I found that the range was extensive for scales in similar condition.
  High = $330.00
  Low = $56.00
  
  Both of these were current auctions although from another site.
  
  I prefer the manual scales over the digital for reasons of consistency, reliability and performance. The digital scales I tested and continue to test make great long range targets. [:D]

  I've written about my travails with these digitals before and I can tell you from experience, it wasn't a spoon...
  
  Most are just cheap crap made by a couple of Chinese companies by the container-load then dumped on the American market. The sellers name doesn't matter, the scales are the same just in a different color box. Sure this is an exaggeration but it was oh so true a few years ago.
  
  Hope springs eternal so I just spent nearly $300.00 on new German technical scale to see if it will stand up to my reloading. It might prove to be a slight improvement. If not there is one more extremely expensive scale which might warrant spending some serious cash after I get a report from another experienced lab friend.
  
  Other than that, all the cheapies are junk and deserve to be targets. They will not ever be worth what you pay for them.

  I had the same problem with erratic readings and consistency when I got my digital. Found out the problem was with the plastic scoop that it came with. When I started using the aluminum one from the RCBS, the problem went away. Still can't figure out why the plastic scoop that it came with caused problems, but it was OK with a aluminum one?

  Static charge from the plastic, none from the metal spoon. You were "charging" the circuitry, giving you bad readings.
