Negotiate .... Compromise?
I keep hearing this from the gun ban groups, negotiate and compromise. We are supposed to give up guns, mags, flash hiders even bayo lugs. Semi auto's that look scarey, goodness the shivers it give to even think of them.
Got to ask this when was the last gun used in a mass shooting that had a bayo mounted or used in any way? Does a flash hider make any difference when shooting kids in a school room where they cant run and no one is looking for the bad guy yet? During the V-Tech shooting the news showed the police hiding behind trees and cars while you could hear shooting inside. To dangerous to enter.
My point is what are the gun grabbers giving up? How are they compromising? This seems like a one way street to me.
Makes me very sad to see the number of gun owners that agreee with more restictions just as long as it does not effect them. They will soon find out Gramps old single shot 12g will be the top dog some day so it to will need to go. That is how we negotiate and compromise.

I was discussing this yesterday with people at work; four of which are very anti gun. We were discussing the single characteristic test in NY state. Didn't Chamberlain compromise with Hitler to achieve "peace in our time?". Didn't Truman and Churchill compromise with Stalin after WWII on how Germany & Eastern Europe would be occupied? Didn't Nixon and Kissinger compromise in 1973 with North Vietnam and trust them to leave South Vietnam alone?

Why do people speak of limitations and restrictions on the Second Amendment, while making use of the Bill of Rights' other amendments such as free speech? Do they not see the hypocracy? (Sorry about the spelling error, but you will likely get the idea)
How long will it take for the USG to restrict free speech that is critical of the USG when there is no one to take arms to defend it?0 -

The answer is that they see the 2nd Amendment as being outdated and unnecessary. For that reason many of them want amend it right out of the BOR and they use that reasoning to justify their attempts at gun control.0 -

If they take the Modern Musket? (AR 15) I will have fear for this country. It will divide this country and not bring it together, at all.
But even more important. What really lies ahead? Why are they so determined to put a permanent ban on these SEMI AUTOMATIC guns?

Amen to that!! And there are some who defend the unconstitutional state and local laws, like the recent one in NY, by saying the states have that 'right'!!![:(!]

Because with the arms goes the power. History is full of examples of this. Look at how powerless the citizens (subjects) of states like IL, NJ, NY, and many others are right in this country!

Restrictions on the 2nd are equivalent to restrictions on the 1st and 4th. If you can restrict either at ther federal level you can restrict the second. The opposite is also true. The 14th basically incorporates individual rights at the state leve. The first is the most tricky because it literally restricts congress from making laws and thus the 14th may or may not apply. The wording of the 14th indicates to me that all restrictions on congress are also incorporated at the state level as well. 0 -

What I meant was.. Why do they want to take something that would let us defend our selves. I just worry what lies ahead and whats intended. Or might happen.

The modern 'musket' is the M-4. Any 'ban' on 'military type' weapons/magazines is a DIRECT violation of the 2nd Amendment![xx(]0
