NRA at the white house
Seems as though the Biden Gun Control committee wants to include the NRA in their deliberations for what is good for the American peasants. Why just the NRA. How about the other gun rights organizations? Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Since they supported Pushed NFA1934, GCA1968, They'll likely have a hand in AWB2013, but I hope I am wrong about the last one0 -

Why the NRA? That's simple.
The NRA is closer in-tune to the Biden Committee's agenda than any other gun rights organization in the country. Matter of fact, I would say that they are decidedly in favor of that agenda. Too many people out there believe that it would be just fine, as long as their hunting rifles and the like are left alone. The problem is, the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. Hunting is a privilege, firearms ownership is a right. A right that is guaranteed.
Just like 1994, and years previous, a simple handshake, a few "attaboys", and we'll be thrown under the proverbial bus yet again.0 -
I disagree The NRA has more CLOUT good or bad then any SECOND rate or johnny come lately gun owners group. show me one thing these groups have done for you when it comes to laws passed . . show me where the money goes to help us with these groups. All they do is divide us [V]

Time will tell. Life is full of comprimises. 30 round mags will be gone but no way to enforce it. Background checks on all trannsfers will happen. I do not see that as a problem. Selling a gun to a fellon or nut case is not someting I want to do. Permanent records of all transactions with serial #s and a national data base with all that info. Read registration of all guns, can never happen or all is lost. Entering mental health records is going to happen if they can get around the privacy laws. My wife can't access my medical records without my written permission. Those of you who think there should be no limits on gun ownership are as unrealistic as those who think that no one should have a gun other than the police or the military. As usual, reality is somewher in th middle. If we are forced to turn them in they will have to pay for them and they do not have the money. Take them without paying and there will be a hell of a problem. We are talking many millions of dollars of private property. Governments have failed over less. 0 -
Karl is right, whether you like it or not, the NRA has the numbers, i.e. members. That is all that matters in DC, that is why they have clout.

My guess is the Obama team will say to the NRA you want cops in schools? Then we want you to not oppose points, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, etc.
1. Transfers between Family should be exempt.
2. Confiscation on death of owner should not be tolerated.
3. 22 Calibers should be exempt.
4. All future firearms developments that see guns that only fire for their owners should be exempt from all provisions of the ban.
5. Registration under the NFA cannot be accepted. If there is to be a compromise then require registration at the state level.
I oppose it ALL but the above is the most offensive about the proposed AWB.
Thing to remember is this will effect future gun enthusiasts more then it will we who already have a lot of what will be banned. Think about our Generations kids and grandkids.0 -

The NRA has supported gun control since it's creation. It's been balls deep in getting gun control enacted into law starting with the 1932 Uniform Firearms Act, then the 1933 National Firearms Act and all it's permutations, the 1938 Federal Firearms Act, the 1968 Gun Control Act, the Hughes Amendment, bullet bans, magazine bans, the 1994 AWB, etc, etc. See a pattern here? It has never stopped any national level initiative from becoming law nor has it gotten anything already enacted into law repealed. It's actions in both the Heller and McDonald case's was nothing short of disgraceful.
So if they're sitting at the white house table to talk about future initiative's and the compromise's needed for passage I'd be very very nervous, especially considering their history.
