WIW AK 47
This is what I know, I think this is a early Norinco AK(it doesn't have a stamp by the mag) My father bought it in the early 84' IIRC, it has maybe at most 20 rnds through it, he had one rifle that had never been shot. It was Imported from RA1 in Woodlawn Hills,CA. Any more info, and or values would be great! Thanks for your help. Pete

Need quality photos of the left side of the receiver, similar to this one off the net.
Not familiar with the importers marking. During that time everybody and their BIL were trying to make a fast buck by importing Chinese AK's and SKS's, by the container load. They wound up undercutting each other price wise, and going broke. During a slightly later time frame I bought a NIB fixed stock AK for $225 OTD. Obviously nowadays with the Nobama gun panic they would be worth at least $1500, IMHO.
EDIT #1, Don't mean to give you the wrong impression. The original, preban, early import, Norinco AK's from the 80's would be worth $1500. There are two many questionable, backroom, home build, AK's floating around nowadays, that I wouldn't buy for $500, let alone $1500. That's why I'm asking for quality close-up pics of your receiver.
EDIT #2, Looks like the real deal. Don't recall ever seeing those markings though. The short folding bayonet also isn't common. The one I had with the red plastic fixed stock had different markings. With the folding stock and bayonet, if anything it's value would be more, then the common fixed stock preban like I had.
EDIT #3, Your under folder is a Polly Tech AKS-762, quite a desirable collectors item. Poly Technologies is the same outfit that made the early import AK's, with machined receivers. My original estimate as far as value, would be on the low side as far as your Polly Tech is concerned.0 -

It is difficult to photograph a dark (often reflective) item like a firearm. Often, people do not know what the important parts are on their firearm to help in identification so one can get an accurate idea about the value. (I don't hold it against them.)
That said, I'd agree with "Rufe-snow" about the $1500 range -- though right now, I could see it going potentially much higher if someone was feeling "rushed" to buy while thinking about potential bans.0 -

Photography hint on gun images, skip the flash. Just lay it out in a brightly lit area. If you have any doubts, just bring in an extra one or two table lamps and put them around the room, without their shades. Modern digital cameras will almost all compensate for any other needed lighting. Flashes just create a glare off the gun. Also, if there is engraving, such as markings or serial numbers that you want to be more visible, rub them with chalk or a white crayon. That will fill the engraving or numbers and make them easier to see. Good luck. 0 -

double underfolder Chikom guns are selling for 2K and up...prior to "the madness" as I call it, they were still 1500 dollar guns. 0
