Educate me on Magpul MBUS sights
I've been considering buying a set of Magpul MBUS back-up sights. Just out of curiosity, I looked on EBAY and found Gen-1's for about $15 for both front and rear sights. Then I see the Gen-2's for $50+ for both front and rear. What's the difference??????

Gen 2's lay a little lower on the rail when folded. 0 -
They also have to be placed on the same rail. No mounting on gas blocks, if you have a long rifle length rail then your good to go. Short rail and your screwed. 0 -
Ya, since they're plastic I'd stay away from the gas block mounting position for the front sight. You don't wanna damage one under the heat of firing a lot of rounds. 0 -

Easiest way to guarantee you're not getting a fake is to order direct from Magpul or from reputable sellers that acquire their products from Magpul. Don't get the ones that have "PTS" in the name, they'll be less money, but they're set up for airsoft guns.0 -

Lots of the MAGPUL BUS on Cheap Bay are the less expensive (cheap) version of Magpul's top of the line sight. They are designed for PTS weapons. These are practice weapons which shoot sub-munitions, which alows the LEOs to practice close quarters engagements. They are not bad sights but will not stand up in the real world (weather, recoil, bumps, etc). I would avoid them. If somewhere in the ad it mentiones PTS, that's them.
Anything that cheap should be avoided.0 -

Thanks for the advice. All of the ones I looked at were PTS. Guess I'll stay away from them!!0 -
Deals are out there if you're patient and keep looking.
I was able to outfit my Adams Arms piston gun with a nice set of GG&G flip-ups for 110 bucks by looking for fleabay specials from Botach.0
