S&W Extractor Pin
Need an extractor pin for my Pre war S&W M&P. Brownell's are back ordered and Dogpile search turns up not much. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Find someone that has WIRE size drill bit complete box . I will bet money one of them will be a snug fit then buy yourself one of that size drill from industrial supply house like MSC and cut the shank to length Put drop of loc-tite in hole and install
EDIT SORRYI was thinking you needed the very small pin that is the detent for the star itself. some people break them trying to tighten or removeing the pin you seek because they dont load the cylinder with empty shells.0 -
Maybe I'm using the wrong term "ejector pin". I need the "pin" approximately six inches long with spring on lower end. This comes up thru the extractor and is pushed downward when the thumb ejector button is pushed forward. The lower end of this pin releases the lower locking bolt so the cylinder can be released. 0 -
Are you sure the pin you need is six in. long [?][?]
I have a early ejector rod and star that is just over 4".
If you have the ejector, measure it and send me the length, as I have some center pins [;)]
EDIT, John, I have center pins 3 15/16" and longer. The pin should be flush with the end of the rod to push the locking lug out of the way.

Dick - I was working from memory (always a bad thing). The pin measures exactly 3 7/8" long. With the cylinder out and a steel ruler pressed hard against the pin at the extractor it is almost flush with the bottom of the extractor rod, just a hair below being flush. I'm trying to correct a sticky opening cylinder and thought the pin may be worn off at the bottom end (or top) and causing this. The ejector rod is tightened as far as it will go. 0 -

Dick - It hasn't arrived. We were buried several days ago under snow and another twelve inches predicted tonight so mail deliveries haven't been regular. The mail (some of it) was delivered yesterday, Sunday, as the PO thought the rural roads might be impassible today. Will post when it arrives. I appreciate your effort. 0 -
Roll the pin on a flat surface and I expect you'll find it slightly bent.
