C&R FFL ok?

Is a C&R FFL ok for a Winchester 1903 made in 1917? Or do I need and plain FFL and not a C&R FFL?

    As long as it is in original configuration, it is good to go.

    It is in original configuration but I thought it had to 100 years or more for date of manufacture, this one was made in 1917; 100 years would be 2017. Help.

    If the gun is over 50 years old it is coonsidered a C&R. Even if you have a C&R and the gun is C&R some carriers will still refuse to ship because you are not an FFL holder. Postal Regulations specifically state only holders of an FFL are eligable to ship and receive handguns. They are not as finnicky about longguns.

    To be C&R a gun must be 50 years old OR be on a list of approved C&R guns, many of which are less than 50 years old, but primarily of interest to collectors (Colt Woodsman is an example).

    Shipping of hand guns must be by common carrier, not USPS. Shipping of long guns can be by common carrier or USPS. DO NOT mark the package 'gun.' Unless you want in stolen in shipping.

    "Even if you have a C&R and the gun is C&R some carriers will still refuse to ship because you are not an FFL holder"............a C&R is a ffl (just an 03 type) and has the same 'rights' as a (01) ffl when it comes to obtaning firearms (with the above noted restrictions).
