    A lot nicer shape than the 95 in 405 I use to shoot. I would have like to see a close up on the lettering.

    That does not look like the picture in my book of a "musket foreend." Or much of anything else, what's with the potbellied profile?

    I am thinking too, that better pictures, to further analize the condition of the rifle are in order. I am also, fairly sure that Bert H, will be along soon to shed some light on the subject.

    at 7 GRAND + I would have to have much better Close up pictures of the Roll stamping or a hands on inspection of that Winchester. OR any other Firearm .

    I would almost bet it's a fake, the finish on the stock looks too light to be right.
    As Karl has said, I'd damn sure want to see closer pictures of the serial number and Winchester roll marks.
    I've seen more fakes than I have originals in this model and caliber.

    The stocks are definitely not original. The barrel and receiver frame appear to be correct.

    Tim,

    The factory warehouse ledger records only exist for serials 1 - 59,999. The Polishing Room serialization records exist for all 425,881 Model 1895s manufactured.
