Star Model B
Anyone have any experience with the older Star 1911 clones? I'm looking at a Model BMin 9mm. Looks like a Commander size version of the model B. I picked up a full-sized 9mm in the late 60s and it was a nice piece. I don't remember what the model was but it was similiar to a 1911 but did not have a grip safety. I bought it for practically nothing and traded it later. Thanks

Help. I need some parts for a Star Model B. Barrel and Link, Barrel Bushing. Thanks for the help.

The Model B was/is a good, reliable pistol. The Germans used some in WWII if that gives you any indication. 0 -
I've had a couple of those that came from South American police forces. One had the barrel "modified" I assume to improve feeding. That one blew out the magazine and shattered the grips on the 3rd shot. I sent it back to SOG for replacement. The replacement and the others in the original order functioned well enough.
I'd advise against using hot ammo in those older Star pistols.0 -
Dry firing it can break the firing pin. 0
