Ultrasonic cleaners

Anybody ever cleaned silverplate whith an ultrasonic cleaner? If so what cleaning material did you use?

I'm looking at a reasonably priced ultrasonic cleaner for small jobs such as brass an small parts.There are two in a recent catalog about equal in size and price. One is made by Lyman and the other by Frankfort Arsenal.Has anyone had any experience with either brand.There is a wealth of knowledge out there and I value your opinions and have never been steared wrong. thanks in advance

I got mine from Harbor Freight a lot cheaper. I'm willing to bed some good money that neither Frankfort nor Lyman makes them themselves.

I have not, however, tried either brand.

Just be aware, it is a tool for small jobs; don't expect to load it up with rifle brass and have anything happen. 20 30-06 cases is about the max I can run and get good results.

The inexpensive ones come from the PRC, like everything else on gods green earth.

I had one of the cheap ones years ago. It wasn't durable and self destructed in short order.

Ultrasonic Cleaners due a super job cleaning parts, brass, tools and guns. Your going to have to spring big bucks for a high quality, industrial strength one though.
