    There are so many fakes/repros on the market today that unless I can put the holster under a black light I don't believe it. In this case, this one looks too new to me to be right. Capture papers? Story? Just not enough information for me.

    My father was a WWII veteran collected a ton of stuff. Those ammo boxes were inside holster. All I know thanks..

    Well, if it was your fathers that puts a different slant on it. Still, to be sure I would check the holster out under the light to make sure that your Dad didn't get conned. But I imagine that he didn't if he was the collector that you say. If the "pancake" Japanese holster is correct and with the fine condition that it is in (most are in various stages of "beat up") it could be worth a pretty penny...something in the $400+ range I would bet and with the ammo certainly what the auction price calls for. Wonder what happened to the Nambu that went in the holster???

    I don't see the little springs on the closing device. Without those on the rubberized canvas holsters, I would be leery as hell that it was a fake.

    The paper cartridge boxes, both for the Nambu and the Arisaka's, are being reproduced also. Without seeing the actual cartridges or putting it under a long wave UV light, it's difficult to ascertain.

    I have been using a black light on holster stitching since the mid-1990's when the fake stuff started to appear in numbers from Asia and other places in Eastern Europe. Many a collector, not to say a novice buyer, has been fooled as some of the fakes are really good. The fakes flood the market today so "buyer beware" is the manta in the holster business. And since WWII stuff is becoming rarer and rarer, therefore more valuable, the faking industry has become rampant.

    Looks ok to me,,but I can't be 100% Looks like you have a tool in it also. The holster has just enough wear on the spots needed...but I can't see as well as I used to..value- about half of the 500,,ymmv

    The 2 boxes of ammo were in the holster.. I have a guy interested in it who is a good customer. .Trying to get a fair price just for the holster..
