looking for rifle brass to reload i noticed three lots for sale all in the same condition. one lot nickel plated and the other two brass. no one bidding on the nickel stuff, is there a downside to nickel plated brass. i load it in pistol cases without any problems.

Reload them as you would any other cases.

Be careful of copper solvent, it will eat the layer between the nickel and the brass. Other than just load as normal and understand they will fail sooner than all brass ones.

I prefer nickel...just watch the case mouths after belling...splits will occur in that area in my experience.

Nickel is harder than brass and will flake off in the dies, which will then scratch your brass cases. Very difficult to get rid of. Use only carbide dies with nickel cases. Agree with the shorter life span...if they don't split at the neck edge, they will split when fired eventually

What Ambrose said: reload the same as any other cases.
The cases are the same! But with a very thin coating of nickel which prevents oxidation! You can load them just as many times and they crack and fail just like the brass ones! Some headstamps are better than others. I have some 38 and 40 nickel brass thats been shot and reloaded so many times that you can see the "yellow" brass under it as the plating wears away from tumbling.
