trigger guard screw size
Can someone tell me what the size is for the trigger guard and forearm screws for a Model 70 Winchester??? It is a 32 thread, but looks like 1/4" but is a little tight in the gauge. Need a thread chaser for one of the holes before I ding it up really good.

If no one here has them, then you can order from BROWNELLS 0 -
Your going to have to take Joe's advice, or order it off a specialist hardware supplier on the net.
1/4 28 is the standard national fine thread size used in industry. Something like 1/4 32 is strictly special order.
If the holes your intending to clean up are shallow? Be sure to specify that the tap you need is what is called a "bottoming tap". If they send you "starter tap" the long taper might cause problems cleaning buggered threads in a shallow hole.0
