Lake City Ammo

Prior to the crazie days, I ordered several of the 420rd ammo boxes of 5.56. The label on the outside of the metal containers says Federal, but the ammo is green tipped with the plus sign inside the circle, 'LC', and '11'.

Comparing the ammo to Federal, it appears the LC ammo is annealed.

Who really makes, manages, the LC facility?

  To my recoletion' It's a GOCO facility; ie: Government Owned Contractor Operated facility.
  Or Federal Has a huge Govt contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Does this mean the same brass with different headstamps are used for Lake City, Federal, and American Eagle?

  Correct, and ATK currently has the contract. Federal is their subsidiary which runs it.
