Flobert Question

Just bought a Flobert in excellent condition. By far the nicest one I've ever seen. It's Warnant action in .32 Rimfire. My question is what exactly is this ammo? Is it the short or long cartridge? Thanks for any info and advice.

  A Warnant system Flobert in the 1897 Sears catalog is listed for "32 caliber short rim fire" (at "special price" of $2.90!)

  Please note- most of the Floberts had their own ammo. No powder, round ball. .32 Rimfire is not .32 Flobert. VERY weak actions on Floberts.

  Yes, but the Warnant system "Floberts" are not true Floberts and have an actual breechblock, whereas the original Floberts used only a heavy hammer to contain the charge:

  But the Warnants are not much stronger, and the breechblock arms often break at the hinge points.

  More then likely, being it's a Belgian made Flobert. It's chambered for the Metric 8mm Flobert cartridge, rather then the US made .32 rimfire. Since both of these cartridges are long out of production. And quite difficult and expensive to obtain in shooting quantities, it would be academic.
  
  But likely the U.S. 32 rimfire would be a lot hotter round to fire, in a Flobert designed for a round ball Flobert cartridge.
