Do Winchester make Model 52 falling block single shot?

Proofhouse.com says 1925 but Bert H. has better records. He can pin it down.

According to Blue Book this would be one of the early "slow lock" versions; the speedlock did not come out until 1929.

I think stock checkering is not factory original.

    Tim,

It is a March 6th, 1924 vintage Pre-A rifle. Need to see pictures of the stock checkering.

The Unertl scope will be 12 years or more newer than the rifle as Unertl did not go into business until 1936. The scope blocks may be the early type with a holes in the sides of the block for the pointed mounting screw from the ring assembly of the early Lyman and Winchester scopes to fit into. Later type blocks will have half moon shaped cutout on the edge of the block for the later type mounting screws to fit into. Tightening the later type mounting screws on the early type blocks will result in buggered places on the edge of the scope block. I suggest you carefully remove the scope and see if damage has occurred.

Agree, first model, slow lock, checkering added by a previous owner.
