German made scope rings question
The rings appear to be soldered on. If that is the case any one have any experience moving them to fit a different rifle that has the mounts farther apart. I am not considering doing the job .... Thanks

The male claw on the mount in the photo, might not be compatible and fit the female mount on the other rifle. I don't know how you would do it with out unsodering the rings, to see if they would fit though? I was under the impression that in this type of German claw mounts, they were hand fitted by a skilled craftsman, and not interchangeable.
I don't know if anybody on this side of the pond is a pro on German claw mounts. You might do some searching on the net, to see if you could find somebody knowledgeable to work on them.0 -
Looks like someone tried to modify one mount to fit the Claw mount on another Rifle. BUBBA strikes again. You need to find a gunsmith that works on Claw mounts for Drillings and rifles. I think someone screw up some high dollar scope mounts[V][:(!] 0 -
Thanks for the information and link.. Yes Bubba has struck again! He lurks around corners in dark places with his hammer and file handy not to mention a mechanics tapered screwdriver... You should see the screw heads enough to make a grown man cry[:(!] 0 -
H&K built their own for the sporting versions of the roller locked rifles. They fit the female recesses on the top cover of the receiver. The ones I had tended to be rather high. 0 -
