Mosin Nagant type 53 Question
I have a Chinese Type 53. I am building a shooter and would like to remove the bayonet and front sight. I have removed the drift pin at the bayonet lug but can not get it to move. My question is, is it threaded onto the barrel and then pinned in place, or does it just slide on and pin... figured I'd ask before I beat any harder. Thanks for any help!

If they follow the Soviet M44 method of assembly (of which they are a copy), they are not threaded, but will have two cross pins, one vertical at the rear, and one horizontal, through the sight base at the front. 0 -
I did find and remove the one at the rear near the bayonet lug, but missed the front one behind the sight fixture. Thanks for the info. Once I removed the one on the front it came right off. 0
