The left's new "buzz word"?
Maybe this has already been discussed, or perhaps I am just stating the obvious, but has anyone noticed the phrase "Gun Violence"? It seems that it has replaced the term "Gun Control" for the left. If you think about the psychology behind it, "Gun Violence" sounds SO bad. Thinking as the average American, nobody wants "Gun Violence". Whereas "Gun Control" sounds too negative for the gun grabbers. When people hear the word "Control", they are naturaly resistant. That is why I believe the left is calling them "Gun Violence Laws" and not "Gun Contol Laws" anymore.

Massaging the language makes a big difference to some.
For example 'Pro Choice' sounds a whole lot better than 'Pro Fetus Killing'.0 -

THat is absolutely correct. ANother example is the use of the phrase "universal background checks". Yesterday on "morning Joe", Joe repeatedly forgot to use the gun grabbing sanctioned phrase "universal background check", and instead slipped and said "national registration", which is essentially what "universal background checks" is. Watching Morning Joe this morning, gun grabbing joe referred to "national registration", and quickly corrected his faux pas and said "universal background check". Someone obviously reminded him to use the sanctioned phrase. "registration" does bother some of those "responsible" gun owners(those gun owners who do not mind second amendment infringement, just as long as they can keep their deer and duck guns),but "universal background check" is kosher.0 -

Technically, a universal background check is not registration until we cycle through a generation of gun owners. At present, in most states, there are millions of firearms that are in the possession of folks who have no paperwork tracing the firearm to them. This will not change with universal background checks until they sell these firearms, or pass on.0 -
It happend again this morning- Barnacle said "national registration", and Joe quickly corrected him, saying "universal background checks"- The gun grabbers have worked hard at finding terminology that will not be offensive to "responsible" gun owners- but it seems if they keep flapping their gums mostly uncontested, their true intent cant help but come out. 0 -
I am against gun violence. I once witnessed a young man shoot ammo that had corrosive primers in it and thereafter failed to clean it properly. 0
