6 shot magazines for colt 45's on ebay?

Saw some $15.00 mags for colts on ebay...
Why would you not want to go for 7, 8 or more shots on your 1911's?

they are primarily designed for the compact versions

anything over 7 is now illegal in New York State

I had a couple of 6 shot full size Gov't Model magazines.
Made for target shooting before the run and gunners took over, you only needed 5 for NRA and 6 for PPC.
