HK Flash Hider C-Spring install

Can someone tell me exactly which way this spring goes and the optimal method for installing it? Thanks.

  Never installed one. It appears that the spring fits in the internal groove. With the ends locking into the holes. I would use needle nose pliers to compress each end to get it into the groove. Then move it around with a scriber until the ends pop into the holes from spring pressure.

  There is only a hole on one side as pictured. So I wasn't sure which end of the spring should be seated in it.
