i have a s&w model 66-1 stainless 6inch barrel 357mag. what does the -1 mean also where can i get a rear sight for it cause it has a scope mount on it thanks

  - numbers are design changes. Rear sight assembly are just K frame ones.

  S&W starts with the model number--66. Then they make modifications they add a-1,2,3 ect.
  I have one square front sight left. What is your barrel length [?]
  The sight Charlie shows will work if yours is a round front frame.

  Might find a rear sight at Numrich Gun Parts.
  Be sure to get proper screws.
  Don't turn the sight adjustment screw too far, or try to remove the blade. It has a break off screw that has to be replaced if you take the blade out.

  As introduced in around 1970 S&W's M66 was a stainless steel version of their M19-3, meaning that when introduced it incorporated three engineering changes which had been made to the parent model since it came out in the late 50's.
  
  With an eye toward ease of manufacture (cost), in the latter part of the 1970's S&W made a design change to their revolvers where they relocated the gas ring from the yoke to the cylinder itself.
  
  This change resulted in their 19-4 and 66-1.
