Looking for a little info on these, such as production #'s, date of manufacture, ball park value for a lightly used example, and anything else you may know about them.

  I've read that 500 9 mms and 500 38 supers were made in 1989. $2000 give or take seems to be the current selling price, assuming original box + paperwork.

  I had thought production was low but 500 is more limited than I would've guessed. There's one on the auction side listed at significantly higher but no bids yet. Maybe this is really a collector's item only?

  Not really, just some over zealous seller, trying to put their kid thru college from one sale. Examples of real collectables from Colt, are the Combat Python, with a 3 inch barrel, and more up scale, the Colt Walker-the real ones, not repro's...the Holy Grail of Colt collecting.
