Weaver 330 scope M.8

I just listed on the auction side an old Marlin 39a that has a
330 SCOPE - M. 8
Patents Pending
W.R. Weaver Co.
El Paso, Texas
I've noticed there seems to be a bit of interest in these scopes. Do you think I should pull it off and list it seperate or just let it ride. The scope does show some wear and bluing loss, but theres no dents or dings, and the post is good.

  According to Stroebel's scope book. That the model that the Army bought during W W II, for the A4 snipers. The folks who rebuild 03's would probably dance and sing to get their hands on your scope.

  While it was one of the scopes issued for use on the 1903A4, it is not as highly sought as the M73B1. But, it may well fetch more than your rifle. As might original Redfield rings & base, but I can't see what yours look like from here.
  
  In your listing, you want to include the keywords "330", "M8", "M73B1", & "1903A4".

  From a marketing standpoint you'd be better off to separate them. The situation being that it is not an original package such as a Marline rifle and Marlin scope, so a buyer may be interested in the rifle but not in the scope while another buyer is intereste in the scope but not the rifle. The total of what each buy would pay for the item they desire will e more than what one of the buyers would pay for the package. What I'd expect to happen if sold as a package would be the buyer would separate them, keep the item of interest, then sell the other as an individual item. The funds he received would be the difference between what he paid and the total of the two separate items, which just as easily have gone to you.

  I cancelled the auction, pulled the scope off, took new pictures and relisted. Thanks to all that confirmed my suspicions.

  While a WW2 item, I had them in Korea in the early '50s for alternate use on the Springfield A4 which was still in service
  They are intrinsically a $10 scope but today they are gold to collectors along with the correct Redfield JR base and rings for the A3& A4 receiver.
  You did the right thing in removing and relisting.
