The same basic question popped up last week about an M1 Rifle and the same information applies in both cases:

SRS is the only game in town at the moment. However, with 6 million(?) M1 Carbines made and SRS having sn information on a couple of thousand, your chances of a "hit" are slim to none with slim leaving town. But, it's worth a shot I suppose. I believe you have to be a member of SRS for them to check a sn.

I checked my "old" Volume 4 and number 220000 is not listed. There is a "new" Volume 4 with more pages/information so you might find more carbine numbers listed. Volume 1-3 do not have any M1 Carbine data.

Since there is no way anyone can call you on it, and IF it is a true Paratrooper model, tell people it is the one that Lipton carried.
