I Propose a National Waiting Period!

...of 6 months before any new legislation can be passed after any incident of "mass death" occurs in the country.

People seem to lose all common sense and start suggesting -- and passing (just look at New York) all sorts of crazy laws while they are filled with emotion. Law should be based on calm reasoned thought, not the emotional reaction to some tragedy.
