Norinco NHM 91 magazine

I have a Norinco NHM 91 which came without a magazine. I bought several AK magazines but they don't fit properly. They go in the gun about halfway then hit a metal tab. They don't click in or lock in and fall out when released. What can I do? Thanks

  The NHM 91's were the last of the Mohicans, i.e the last of the Chinese AK's that were in the US warehouses, when the ban was instituted. My guess is that the importers/distributors were running scared, and would do anything they could, to sell the guns legally and keep the feds off their back. Some BATF hack probably told them the only way he would let them be sold, if they couldn't use standard AK mags.
  
  
  I got this link off the net it explains your problem. You are either going to have to rework the AK mags or remove the "rivet" from the mag well to get it to accept standard AK mags.
