22 win mag rimfire ammo??

Overall which brand 22 wmr ammo have you guys had the most success with in your rifles? I understand that each rifle has its own preferred round, but I am just looking for a good starting point to purchase some ammo. All recommendations welcome. I have a Ruger Target rifle that I am going to get ammo for.

  We used to shoot the primers out of shotgun shells at 50 yards with a bolt action marlin with CCI Maxi Mags. They also do pretty good in my Mod. 77.

  I don't shoot it very much but a Savage 24c-dl shoots fairly straight with Winchester Super-X 40 gr either HP or FMJ.

  Get as many different loads and brands as you can try then all...the best ones get as much of the same lot as you can and have fun.

  My Savage 93 loved CCI Maxi Mags, either 40grn JHP or FMJ. Hated Winchester ammo though - inaccurate, wouldn't fire some times, wouldn't extract some times, etc.

  I prefer the Hornady 22 magnum selection best.

  I shoot more .17 these days, but CCI maximags worked well for me.

  remmington 33 grain accutip will put them in a dime at 50 yds off a bench with iron sights in my Savage Anschutz 164m sporter.
  
  I got lucky by finding what my rifle likes in my first purchase.
  
  Cause the guy sitting to my right at the range was putting most of the same rounds in a six inch circle with his AMT.
  
  Buy a lot.
  
  Shoot a lot.
  
  Keep a notebook.
  
  Finding what YOUR rifle likes is a lot of fun!
