Triumph shotgun spring

I was recently given an old break-action shotgun. It's pretty special, as it was what I got my first rabbit with when I was 7.

The leaf spring that tensions the break-open lever has broken. Not sure the name of this spring, but here are a couple of photos. It measures just over .5" wide, and 3" long.

Any idea where I can find one of these, or a way to make one?

  TRUIMPH is a "Trade Brand Name" shotgun. "Trade Brand Name Shotguns are shotguns made by a major maker and before 1940) for and were sold by wholesale sporting goods dealers, retail chain stores or an independent seller (your local hardware store) who chose the name to go on the gun. Shotguns with the name TRIUMPH (but without foreign proof marks)were made by either Crescent Fire Arms Company of Norwich,CT *1892 to1930+) or Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works of Fitchburg.MA *1871 to 1993) for and were sold by both Sears Roebuck & Company and Montgomery Ward Company both retail chain stores and both with offices located in Chicago,IL. You didn't say if the gun is a single barrel or a double barrel but I think the spring is called the TOP LEVER SPRING. Crescent has been out of business for over 75 years and Iver Johnson for 20 years so there are no off the shelf parts to be had, But that doesn't mean parts can't be found. Some gun parts dealers buy old shotguns and break them up for parts to sell. They may not have the part at the moment but sometimes they will. You just have to try. They are and their addresses are:

  That 'looks like' a spring for a Iver Johnson Champion shotgun, you might start there
