Ruger Mod 77 magazine

I bought a 25 round magazine for my Ruger 77. I have the 77 in a 22mag and also in the 17HMR. The magazine from Shooters Ridge says it will work in the 77 in either of these calibers. It works great in the 22mag but not in the 17HMR. Magazine will lock in but once I open the bolt I can close because it catches on the magazine? Am I doing something wrong??
