22 Conversion unit by Colt
I need some help again, I just picked up a Colt 22 service model conversion unit for the 1911 45,everything was there EXCEPT the directions. I know where everything goes except one long skinny stamped metal part.I can't figure out how it installs or the purpose.Does anyone have a copy of the original directions they could e-mail me or if you can explain in a reply I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Hello this piece is the EJECTOR . Please let me know if your conversion unit has a serial number starting with the letter U about one inch in front of the rear sight. If so this unit is valuable more so then units that are not serial numbered. 0 -
mine works well with out ejector[?] 0 -
perry shooter, a Conversion Unit with a serial number has a milled ejector, not a stamped ejector.
To assemble a Conversion Unit on a frame, the ejector should be laid along side of the chamber with the small vertical leg positioned in the milled space on the side of the chamber. Then slide the barrel with the ejector attached into the slide from the front, making sure that the ejector goes into the slot along side the breech face. Assemble as with a centerfire slide from there.0
