bullet weight for AR-7,papoose?

Sometime back I saw an ammo comparison for the AR-7.
Are the heavier bullets more reliable functioning in them?

I have never had a problem with the standard velocity 40 grain solids in my Charter Arms built AR-7. I seems to be happy to digest any LR round I have tried in it, including Stingers and Yellow Jackets. Just keep it clean and lubed.

Like any .22, it may be finicky with some things(especially accuracy-wise), so trying out a few different ones may be in order. As 62F said, if they're clean and lubed, chances are the Ar7 will eat up any standard velocity load. (The one I used for a few years liked CCI mini-mags the best for accuracy)

My SOP with a new (to me) .22 was always to get one box of every type of ammo I could lay my hands on and shoot them for groups, then stock up on whatever turned out to be THE round for that gun.

It wasn't unusual to find that one would group the el cheapo, bulk bucket ammo better than higher priced target stuff.
