I just got a r15 and like to hear what type of scope to look for. .223 cal like to shoot to 200 yards.

what are you shooting at groundhogs and golfballs or cqb 0-200yds to hunting or what? 0 -
I didn't the last part of reply but out here in western maryland coyote and groundhogs are fun 0 -

It's important to determine how much money you want to afford for scopes. Just be aware that quality of glass goes hand-in-hand with quality of the scope and that's what cost dollars.
Zero to 200 yards is a moderate distance for scope shooting even with small targets so a moderate power scope should work fine. In essence you don't need an expensive long range tactical scope for this endeavor unless of course you want one.
The reticle can be an important choice also. Many of the scope manufacturers offer a BDC or 'bullet drop compensation' reticle which lets you shoot in to specific distances using the horizontal cross lines on the reticle.
Be aware that the scope set up on an AR platform can be different from the standard bolt action rifle. Be sure you have the right rings and a riser if required for proper eye alignment.
Vortex is my general suggestion for scopes as long as you stay within the VIPER or better categories. Some of the less expensive lines have less quality.
Burris has a couple of good lines at reasonable prices with reticles to suit you needs. Their Signature rings with the inserts are great for most set ups.
Minox is one NOT to pass up since they are being featured on sale at a number of suppliers. The glass quality is excellent and they have a BDC model or two.
The list of more expensive scopes is slightly longer but much more expensive. I'll add those if you want to invest the money in great glass.
