The S & W book doesn't break it down. Just lists serial number range between 1949 & 1969. 68,000 made during that time span, starting with SN# 54,475.

If your revolver is actually marked as a Model "33" it would put DOM after 1957. Marked "33-1", after 1961.

Rufe- NOT marked as Model 33. Space under the yoke has no model marking. This one is close to unfired- the knurling on the hammer and face of trigger is still uncomfortably sharp- very faint drag line on cylinder.

My WAG is it's DOM is mid 50's. They never were super popular as compared to 38 Special 5 shot revolvers. Can't see S & W making more then 3,000-4,000 a year.

The flat latch was used on some J and K frame revolvers in the years 1950 to 1966. This is from Standard Catalog of S & W.
