Colt Detective Grips

I have a 1975 mfg. detective and am somewhat confused about original grips. I'd like to put "Original" grips on and am wondering if the rounded or square were the original ?? Thanks

  Bought one with "rubber" grips, no insigna. 1975 mfg. according to serial# M13---. Were these factory grips? Thanks

  My Colt Cobra from 1975 came with wood stocks. So did my Detective Special from 1974. Likely yours has replacement stocks. Fortunately the originals aren't "Python-priced" on the auction sites.

  If they have the gold rampant colt emblem, and one finger groove on the bottom, they were factory, and made by Pachmayr.

  I am not sure if TRAP55 means that the stocks he describes came on a 1975 Colt Detective Special as original equipment, which they did not, or if he means that Colt sold accessory rubber stocks in the configuration he describes, which it did.
