Colt SAA engraved - pt 2

Here is the information from Colt: 45 Caliber, 7.5" BBL, Blue Finish, Rubber Grips. Shipped May 5, 1886 in a 25 gun lot. Shipped to Simmons Hardware St. Louis Missouri. I do not know if this hurts or helps the value. Could someone give me a price range?

  Very difficult to price since it isn't original; it just depends on finding the right motivated buyer that wants a nice looking non-factory engraved gun.
  
  It left Colt as a blue and case hardened single action. The visible parts appear to be original to the Colt, but it appears to have a broken sear (tip of the trigger), which is the reason the trigger if forward with the hammer down. It could have broken hammer notches too. It would have originally had black hard rubber Eagle stocks.
  
  The gun was heavily buffed, non-factory engraved but nice, and then nickel plated. No telling when this was done, but it isn't period.
  
  The gun has a very common ship to location, so nothing to add there.
  
  Other than buffing, engraving, stocks, and finish; the Colt appears to be as it left the factory. Personally, my SWAG, I can't see anyone paying more than $3000 for it, if that much, but you never know and others might have a completely different estimated price.

  I agree with Old Colt's assessment. In spite of its shortcomings, it's a good looker and should bring in the $2,500-$3,000 range. As it's an antique and doesn't require an FFL in most states, it helps in its desirability.
