Chicago Assault Weapon Ban
I have reviewed the CPD ordinances and tried to look this up online but cannot find anything that clarifies the question.
If you live in Chicago can you own an "Assault Weapon" by the city definition and store it out of Chicago? Is that legal? Everything I have read leads me to believe it is as long as you do not enter the city with it but I could not find any specifics on how the law would view that.

Interesting thought.
There are some in England that own firearms .... they just keep them across the water in europe. [:)]
So it has happened then, England has seceded from Europe!0 -
It is a city ordinance not a state law so yes.
Illinois the state has not enacted a AWB as of yet so as a resident, state will not bother you as long as you have a FOID card.
Shotguns and large caliber bolt action/ pump rifles are legal in the city, handguns are legal by permit.0 -
Thought so, thank you for replying I appreciate it.

Cook County has a ban. I am not sure if it applies to the entire county or if it only applies to the un-incorporated areas.0
