I.D. marks on AR15 upper

I have an AR15 upper receiver with a makers mark of an M, with a triangle above it.

Can anyone tell me who made it?

  You sure that's a triangle? A letter M with a diamond symbol denotes Mueller Industries.
  
  It's important to realize these marks only indicate the company who produced the forging, not who actually machined it into that finished product.

  Many folks don't understand that it's almost impossible to identify an upper. Even reading the rollmark on the barrel doesn't actually identify the upper. They can teel their buddies it's whatever brand they want to satisfy their "logo ego".
