Help Needed to ID Part

Looking for help in identifying this part.. Look like a Magazine tube ??? Measures overall length is 8 5/16"" .. Tube measures 7 11/16"..
Inside diameter is .543"

  that's a magazine tube for the old ruger .44 mag. carbine

  Could be a buttstock magazine for a Spencer or similar rifle.
