I have a Colt Trooper Mark III with an 8 inch barrel. It is black withblack grips in excellent shape. The serial number 96542L. Could someone tell me the year and value. Thanks

my uncle has aquired a new gun, bought by his uncle in 1966, its a colt .357 mag half lug 4" stainless model with wood grips, it is marked on the bbl "trooper special". any info about this type of gun would be nice, gun is NIB so maybe a price guess? 0 -
Before taking to a Smith, shoot it off sandbags, and also let another person shoot it. This is to make sure that the error is always their and is consistently repeatable. 0 -

I've notices that sometimes a better-fitting set of grips will correct a left-or-right grouping, but 6 inches at 15 yards is quite a bit off. 0 -
You can check the crown yourself also with a magnifying glass, looking for small nicks and burrs. Also, run a cotton sway around the inside of the end of the barrel, if there is a nick small pieces of cotton will stick to it, I would also get someone else to shoot it, and off of sandbags. You don;t say if this is with every brand of ammo you have tried or just one lot or?? 0 -
changed grips, my son and i both have the problem. could be genetics. occurs with several different ammo brands. will look at the crown with a strong magnifier to see if i can determine anything. thanks all 0 -
If you happen to support the pistol with the index finger of the off hand around the front of the trigger guard (presuming you shoot right handed), you might be unconsiously exerting pressure with that finger that pulls the gun down and left. Common problem for those that learned that hold. 0
