Hi, recently acquired a McMillan 50 bmg repeater action. Anyone know any other companies besides McMillan, that make stocks to fit this action? Thanks

LOL. . .I thought your question was going to be about security derivatives.

To answer your question, it seems pretty unlikely to me that you're going to find an off-the-shelf aftermarket stock for a McMillan .50BMG action made by anyone else. Demand for this sort of item would be too small for anyone to tool up to make them as a production item.

If you don't like what McMillan has, you'll probably have to have something custom made.

I found a reference to a custom prototype stock for a McMillan 50BMG rifle, but none are listed for sale on the McRees website. It might be worth a phone call, though, just to see if they have anything lying around or can do anything for you.

    79mustang,

While the options may be limited, they certainly aren't non-existent.

These .50 caliber actions are on the extreme end of size, most running about 2" in diameter and 10" - 12" in length. The fact that they are actually round is a plus since the geometry needed to create the inlet is fairly simple. Single shots are more prevalent but a stock made for single shots can be modified for magazine feed by a good stock maker or gunsmith.

Check the Richards Microfit website for inlets then try Joel Russo if you can work with a laminated stock. Wenig Custom Gunstocks might be able to lend a hand, too.

Remember that the BAT and Defiance actions are about the same size so stocks made for them might be able to be modified to fit the McMillan.

    Best.
