ultra dot on my m4

i just bought a dti m4 223 carbine. i dont know alot about the ar, i had a ultra dot 1" red dot laying around so i wanted to put it on the m4. i installed it on the rail using weaver style rings. it sits way to low, is there a riser made to bring it up to eye level? how do you remove the front site? any help is apprec thanks don

  If its not immediately obvious how to remove the front site, then it is integral to the gas block. And you leave it as it is.
