New Frontier polymer lowers

    Don't know anything about the NF"polymer" lowers. I DO know something about carbon fiber lowers and will assure you there's a difference between polymer and carbon fiber.
    The carbon fiber lowers I sell are as strong as aluminum(maybe more)and less likely to crack or break than aluminum. There are first person reports of carbon fiber lowers with 10K rounds through them w/o going out of tolerance.

    Only physical forces related to handling and the requirement that trigger/hammer relationship be maintained.

    Under normal conditions an AR-15 receiver has minimal force put on it. Its not zero (ie the recoil force is transmitted through it to the buttstock, plus into your hand holding the grip), but its pretty low.

    Also, as mentioned, obviously the thing is going to be subject to whatever mechanical force you use in handling it, dropping it, etc.

    I've seen a build posted on the internet of some guy who built an AR-15 lower receiver out of plastic cutting boards (ie the ones you use in your kitchen to chop vegetables on). It was more of a proof of concept than any serious build, but apparently he did get the thing to fire a few times.

    I wouldn't choose a plastic receiver gun to 'go to war' so to speak, but any decent one ought to be good enough for casual use at the range, training, or even true defensive use in a pinch.

    Also, note that people fire all kinds of things through AR-15 lowers nowadays, up to and including .50BMG rounds! So something like that would probably stress a plastic receiver a "little" more than "just" a .223, and again, I'd be leaning a bit more towards actual metal for that!
