It's a Belgian made personal protection revolver. They were made by many manufacturers and in great quantity, prior to the German invasion and occupation of Belgium in 1914. I don't recognize the manufacturers Trade Mark on the side. The rest of the markings are standard Belgian Proof Marks.
The cylinder is to short to be chambered for the 5mm Velo Dog cartridge. More likely it's for .25 ACP. This would date it's production to after 1905, when the Browning 25 Automatic first was marketed. Because of this, it definitely wouldn't be legally a antique firearm.
The price realized on the auction is surprising to me. Generally these small Belgian made revolvers, don't have much of a following/value on this side of the pond.
EDIT #1, I forgot their should be more Proof Marks on the rear face of the cylinder. The Belgian smookeless proof, of a "Oval" with a "Crown" on top containing the letters "E L G" over a "Star". It also might be marked with the Liege, "Tower", Proof Mark.0 -
Took it apart and there is the same markings on back of cyc. with the ELG in oval over star with crown over the oval. Thanks for your help will relist it as C&R or FFL. 0
